This week I heard from members in my FREE Facebook group talk about their struggles to get bookings on their calendar, and it’s September! Now is the time your team should be ready to kick off their business with a full calendar and ready to rock their business.
However, it’s the same old struggle I hear…
- “I’m always asking and getting a lot of no’s.”
- “Many people say they don’t have a lot of friends to ask.”
- “I don’t know “how” to ask for the booking.”
- “I’ve asked everyone I know and nobody wants to book with me.”
Are you hearing these words from your team members? There are usually three reasons why team members struggle to get bookings.
- The first is FEAR… Fear of asking, fear of what people will think, fear of rejection, fear of not knowing how to ask.
- The second is … they are STUCK because they’ve run out of people to ask.
- The third is … NO CALENDAR ORGANIZATION. They are too haphazard and hoping to get bookings and put them on the calendar after people say yes.
To help your team get over these struggles you must be an influential leader. What do I mean by influential? I mean you must get to the core of their struggle so they can see exactly what barrier is stopping them from feeling the fear, asking the right way, finding new people to ask, and feeling confident that their calendar is ready to receive bookings.
Here are 5 ways you can influence your team to get bookings
- Create an exercise with the team and ask the question: Why would women want to book with you? then, have team members brainstorm the answers and here’s what you’ll hear…
- Women love the products
- Women love to have fun with their friends.
- Women love to learn about healthy living products, or learn how to create a 10-piece wardrobe. (Your special product demonstration.)
- Women love to get free products when they host.
- Women love you and want to introduce you to their friends.
Keep brainstorming why women would want to book with them because it builds their confidence! When they see these points, they will know how to share what happens at their parties and they’ll learn how to explain every detail on how their party will be an absolute fun time with their friends who will learn how to use the products. Yes, as a hostess they will earn some free product, but most of all it will be a memorable experience. Then help them put this into a script, so they lose the fear of asking, or the fear of being salesy because sharing from their heart each reason, people would want to book with them.
- Help them organize their calendar! You may think, and they may think they are organized but the truth of the matter is they are not! My CALENDAR CONFIDENCE system helps so many people get bookings because they know exactly “when” they open their calendar and be confident about their dates, it shows people they are serious about their business. People are impressed when they see someone this organized, they want to party with people who are successful! When they are confident with their calendar and use my “booking love language” they always get parties booked.
3. Work with them to overcome objections! This covers those people who are afraid of rejection. That’s because they don’t go further and continue the conversation. Write that down, help your team members to “continue the conversation.” The main objections are usually
- I’m too busy to hold a party.
- I don’t know enough people.
- I don’t think my friends will want to come.
Show your team how to over come these objections by “continuing the conversation.” Give them scripts if it makes them feel more comfortable. When they continue the conversation, they will build stronger friendships and people will want to book because they love the product but most of all love the consultant.
- Remind your team to book a few private appointments. This is a great way to convert a person to a booking. Show them how to build that one-on-one relationship and instead of taking the ONE sale, encourage their guest to book a party and get their products for free and half price. You’ll be surprised how impressed people are when you say, “I suggest we don’t order this today, let’s ask your friends to get together and as the host you can get most of these things for free and/or half price.
5. Lastly, teach your team how to plant seeds and get two bookings at every party. Ideally, if this happened they would never run out of bookings. Here are a few ideas…
- Host Coaching is the first place to plant a seed. Find out from your hostess which of her guests would most likely book and follow up with her at the party. Be sure to explain to your hostess when she has 2 or more bookings the advantage of more product free or half price. Show team members how to talk about the host program.
“Ladies, when you see our clothes you’ll love them and want them all. Being a Host is easy, fun and profitable. All you need is a few friends, a couple of hours and you can get free clothes! I’m going to ask each one of you tonight if you’d like to be a Host in the future.”
When you plant this seed at the beginning of your party, you’ve set the stage for asking EVERYONE to book at check-out.
- Use your WISH LIST all through your party and ask them to write names of people they know who would love these products. The person with the most names gets a prize, but most of all you have people who have lists of 5 to 10 people and they are potential hostesses.
- Teach them to plant one-liner booking seeds. “This outfit retails for $75. As a Host you could easily get an outfit like this free using hostess credits.”
- Make a point to show them how to ask for the booking at check-out. Share words to say like “Remember I said I was going to ask everyone to be a Hostess? I’d really love to work with you and I know your party would be a success, would a week night or weekend work best for you?”
If your team is struggling with bookings, re-read this blog post and work “hands on” with your team members. These are surefire methods that work! Your team will thrive when you implement these methods and it will change their mindset from thinking
