The question is, “Why should I have a blog in my Direct Sales Business?”
Are you ready? Is it time for you to expand and grow your business?
HAVING YOUR OWN BLOG?
Like other business owners who have a blog, it’s a way for you to share your products and services and “stand out from the crowd.” Blogging is big business, and it’s available if you’re ready to expand and grow. There are very few direct sellers who are using this type of media to grow their business.
In today’s world of social selling, we have learned people are online and googling every day. Online business has become our norm. Gone are the days of waiting for answers. We want to know the answer “immediately” and we have the means to do that every minute of the day by going online and asking a question.
As a Direct Seller, having a blog gives you another opportunity to have an “online presence” where you’re available to answer questions about your products and rank in a google search when people ask those questions..
If you want to be the person who offers the most value with excellent customer service and want to grow your reach, then a Blog is the “extra value” to share with customers, hostesses and team members.
You are the expert, and a Blog is a huge opportunity to set yourself apart as the go-to person who knows everything about your products. Also, as a leader you’re attracting people who may be looking for an opportunity. A blog helps you become more visible showing up as a direct sales professional.
A blog is an online site that “yours” and where you provide the most helpful information about your products. You are able to answer all those questions people ask at your parties, at networking events and it solidifies your own brand and strategy behind your direct sales business.
If you’re a Direct Seller, then here are the 5 Reasons I believe you should have a Blog.
#1 A blog broadens your Reach to grow new Customers. When someone googles
- a skin care questions, or
- how to wear a scarf, or
- what is the best cleaning product, or
- what’s the best storage container.
You can be part of that google search with a blog. Yes, there will be other big players that will rank higher than you, but your content may just be the very answer someone is looking for. On your blog, you’ll have a link where someone can go straight to your website or message you on social media.
This broadens your reach to attract new customers who may never have met you if they hadn’t been searching for information about your type of products. People are always searching for a new product to try and even a new business opportunity. Sharing your extraordinary service in your blog will help you attract new customers who want to buy from you.
If people are searching for a journal, my BLOG POST about my ONE NOTEBOOK JOURNAL system will give them a perspective of this special way to keep track of their thoughts and ideas in ONE PLACE.
#2 A blog helps you stand out from the Crowd with “your” Brand. There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of consultants in direct sales and only a small amount of them have a blog. In today’s world it’s important to brand yourself. Become the go-to beauty queen, or the fashionista, or skin care expert, and organizing wizard. Your brand speaks to the specific needs and desires of your ideal customers. And your blog will be a place to capture their attention.
This is where you differentiate yourself from the crowd. You get to share information from your unique perspective and show your personality. Add in a little video and people will notice you and want to buy from you, book with you and some will be interested in learning more about your business opportunity.
#3 A blog enables you to offer solutions unique to you. This goes along with your brand. The solutions you offer your customers are unique to you and when you share those solutions in a blog, people want to know more.
The people who are looking will be attracted to your “unique style” of sharing why your products make a difference in their lives. And you can share information in a special lead magnet designed by you to give your prospective new clients a sense of what it’s like to use your products and work with you.
My unique style in my Direct Sales fashion business was my “wardrobe solution” where I showed women how to walk into their closet every morning knowing how to choose the outfit for the day. Everyone received my 10 ways to Flatter their Figure Lead Magnet that helped them understand the concept of my Fashion shows called Closetology 101.
I’ll be offering a course in the fall on “How to write a Blog.” Sign up to get a reminder if you’re ready to start a blog.
#4 A blog helps you Repurpose and expand your network. One of the best ways to be visible in today’s online world is to re-purpose your content online. I recommend to my coaching clients to choose no more than THREE platforms to be present and consistent. When you write a blog, you have content to share in different forms on different platforms.
You can also update old blog posts make them more contemporary with what’s going on in our social media world. Here’s a blog I wrote about expanding your network in Direct Sales.
When you re-purpose snippets of your blog and share across social media you are expanding your network.
The “right” people who want to learn your unique solutions about your products and your business opportunity will be attracted to read your blog.
#5 A blog is a learning tool for your team. One of the best learning tools for my million-dollar team was my MONTHLY newsletter. In the good old days I would write a 14 page newsletter full of articles, recognition, solutions and tips and print it out at Kinko’s and mail out 500 newsletters across the country.
Now, you can have the same effect using your blog as a learning tool for your team. Your articles, your solutions and your tips will inspire and educate team members the possibilities of reaching and expanding their own world.
This is great support for your team and helps your team grow. Potential team members will get to know you and decide whether this is the team they want to belong to.
It’s important you create a blog to do your research. Specifically, check out your company’s policies and procedure and make sure it’s allowed.
Think about what you want your blog to look like and what links you’ll provide.
After reading this blog, what’s your decision? Are you ready to start a blog?
