When you’re in Direct Sales, you know your business is growing when you meet your perfect customers.   When I ask my coaching clients how much time they spend finding perfect potential customers, the answer is usually a low ten percent.

If your sales are dwindling, or you’re struggling to get bookings, or you haven’t recruited anyone in a while, you know that you’ve neglected this part of your business and the fact is you need to spend 50% (yes fifty) of your time focusing on meeting your perfect potential customers.

It’s important to know how to find your perfect potential customers.

  • First, know exactly who is your perfect potential customer? What is her age range?  What are her problems, her challenges, her goals?
  • Second, where does your perfect potential customer hang out? Where does she hang out online? On social media?  Offline?

In Direct Sales, you are looking for people who love your products.  People who want solutions from using your products.  Let’s focus on the 5 HOT SPOTS where your perfect potential customer hangs out.

#1 HOT SPOT is your parties!   This is the natural HOT SPOT to meet new and potential customers.  How do you meet them?   You simply plant a seed and ask your hostess to invite THREE people you’ve never met before and reward her for her efforts. Meet 3 new customers holding 6 parties a mont – that’s 18 new perfect customers/month or 216 new perfect customers every year.

#2 HOT SPOT is at a Networking Event! Once you know your perfect potential customer and where she hangs out, attending networking events is a suitable place to find them.  I see many direct sellers join networking groups for a brief moment and get discouraged because they don’t get immediate outcome.  The don’t understand the importance of planting a seed and building a relationship first before seeing any future business.   Joining the right networking organization truly works when begin to build those deeper relationships.

 

#3 HOT SPOT is in your VIP Facebook group!  This is a great place to plant seeds and build strong relationships with customers who will love to invite their friends to join your group.  It all begins in the “Description of your Group.”   Be very clear about who you serve (your perfect potential customer.)    Make it authentic and inviting so people will LOVE to join your group.  This is the place to share how to organize, care and reveal unique ways to use your products.   Of course, this means you’ll plant lots of seeds in your content as well as share your specials.  Use the 80/20 rule Share 80% about your personal life and hobbies, and 20% about your business life. This is one of the best places to water and fertilize your seeds.

#4 HOT SPOT is serving customers with a monthly email newsletter. Sending a monthly newsletter is one of the best marketing tools for engaging leads and converting them into perfect customers.  Sharing hot tips about your products and  and stories about your business life, you gain customer retention.  People open an email newsletter faster than seeing any of your social media posts that are controlled by algorithms.   My coaching clients focus building solid relationships and get solid referrals.   It’s also a place to offer a lead magnet, or pdf of 10 top tips how to use your products.

#5  HOT SPOT is offering group presentations or workshops.  Group presentations open the door to finding potential customers.  Holding FREE workshops with groups is a great way to meet new people, plant seeds, and follow up to gain new perfect customers. Do your due diligence and find the right group of potentials who will love to learn more how to use your products.
