secret imageBefore the phenomena of the “Secret” book and the “Secret” movie, I used to hold “Secret” calls once a month with my whole team. These calls helped to keep my team connected and fresh. It brought the team together, and because I had named them “Secret” calls, it created quite a buzz!

At conference, team members would say, “Did you hear about “blah” on the secret call this month?” Other teams wanted to know why these calls were “secret.” They wanted to know if they could be on them.  Other leaders were asking to join the calls.

I also allowed prospects to jump on our “Secret” calls to learn how our team supported each other and, of course, learn more about our business opportunity.

That’s what made our million dollar team so special. It was their willingess to learn and share ideas and concepts with each other, and it kept the activity on our team consistently high every month.

But, here’s the catch, the calls weren’t “secret” they were just training calls which held “valuable” secrets. So, the “Secret” call for September might be on how to cultivate a team Booking ritual with the Hostess Coaching three-connect formula.   September is a high activity month with lots of parties booked on our team calendar, and I wanted to make sure as many of those parties held.

The team perceived these calls as “secret” because they were so “valuable.” At the end of every call I’d ask everyone to share their “valuable” secret with everyone. This was the buzz that put everyone in the mode of learning and focusing on improving areas of their business.

Here’s how I defined a “valuable” secret

  • It’s that little thing you hear that excites you to go into action.
  • It’s an idea that keeps your passion alive
  • It’s in a conversation with a customer, a Hostess or a prospect.
  • It’s when you talk face to face with team members at a team meeting
  • It appears when you are coaching a team member
  • It appears when you are holding a party
  • It appears when you make someone feel good.

Some of us call it an “aha” moment. Others say, it’s when a “light bulb” goes off. I call it a “valuable” secret. I look for these “valuable” secrets at every meeting, every teleclass, every training, everywhere even today in my own coaching business.
