As we reach the midpoint of the year, it’s the perfect time to review your progress and set plans to achieve your yearly goals. A mid-year review helps you reflect on what has happened over the past six months and allows you to design a strategy for the remainder of the year.

Reflecting on Your January Goals

  • Do you remember the goals you set in January?
  • Have you looked at them recently?
  • Have things gone well?
  • Have you seen progress towards achieving them?

We are now at the halfway point of the year. Do you recall the excitement and enthusiasm you felt in January when you set those ambitious goals in the GOALS SECTION of your planner?  Now is the time to pause, reflect, and assess your progress to stay on track for the rest of the year.

Are Your Dreams Coming True on Your Vision Board?

Vision Boards remain a powerful tool for setting goals and planning your year. If you didn’t have time to create a vision board in January, it’s not too late to start now.

The Importance of a Mid-Year Review

Imagine the possibility of doubling your income in the second half of the year. This is the importance of conducting a mid-year review. Reviewing what has transpired in the first half of the year allows you to be intentional about your business design, giving you time to plan and fine-tune your strategies to achieve your yearly goals.

Follow the Purposeful Planner SystemThe “Purposeful Planner System,” outlined in my 2024 Planner, is a straightforward process. It guides you through:

  • Setting a BIG AUDACIOUS GOAL for the year
  • Breaking it down into mini-goals
  • Using a brain dump method to create 10 focused action steps for the year

If you followed this method in January, you have:

  • A roadmap to follow
  • Clarity on what you want
  • Strategies to increase your visibility
  • Techniques to stay on task
  • Discipline to follow up
  • Consistency in touching your business every day

review your monthQuestions to Review the Past Six Months.  These questions are designed to help you reflect on your business’s progress over the last six months. Consider creating a timeline to focus on what happened each month. If you’ve been completing the MONTHLY REVIEW sheets in the 2024 Planner, look back at your notes for each month.  Here are five questions to guide your review:

  1. What did you accomplish over the past six months?
  2. What “worked” in your business?
  3. What would you have done differently?
  4. What obstacles did you overcome?
  5. Was there something you learned that you want to implement?

Planning for the Next Six Months:  Now that you’ve reviewed your goal section in your 2024 Planner, answered these five questions, and reflected on your vision board (if you made one), you have the information needed to start planning for the next six months.  Ask yourself:

  • Do I want to stay on track or switch direction?
  • What is my focus for the next six months?
  • What are the top three actions that will help me achieve this goal?

Write down your goal

Grab a notepad or a 5×8 card and write:  “It’s December 31st and I have…”

Then write the details of how you will feel when you’ve achieved this goal. Write about how you focused, the actions you took, and every detail that helped you achieve your goal.

In Conclusion:  Conducting a mid-year review is crucial for staying on track and achieving your yearly goals.

By reflecting on your progress, assessing what worked and what didn’t, and planning your next steps, you can ensure that your dreams and goals become a reality.

Use the Purposeful Planner System to guide you, and don’t forget to visualize your success.
