passion what is mmbOn a recent leadership call I was asked to share a top team building tip that helped my team reach the #1 position in the nation. I thought about all the systems & strategies I used, but when it came down to it, I realized there was one thing everyone responded to on my team and that was PASSION!

I was extremely passionate about owning my own fashion business. This was an industry I loved and it showed. Everyone who joined our team was excited to wear our clothes and learn ways to help others feel good and look good in our fashions.   I created a mantra for our team. “Fashion is our Passion.”   We shared our mantra at every party and built our credibility becoming known as women who lived and breathed fashion.

I created “Fashion” events for my team to get passionate about. At every team meeting we did mini-fashion show presentations. My team got so excited, they were creating fun fashion presentations on their own – one was called “Goldilocks and the three Bears.”

Another passion that brought the team together was being a member of our CALENDAR GIRLS Team booking system. This system enabled me cg team buildingas a leader to recognize team members with their high fashion parties and their contributions to our team goals every month. Following the strategies in this system, got everyone on board to offering fashion fittings and holding successful high sales fashion presentations (parties) on a consistent basis.

We partnered with organizations about Fashion.   One was “Dress for Success” helping women get back into the workforce dressing for interview appointments. When “Katrina” hit Louisiana, one of my sister leaders created a “Fashion for Compassion” program that helped many women who had lost everything have clothes to wear to start over.

The point here is we ALL shared our passion

  • Each team member shared her passion for our fashions.
  • Each team member had a passion for helping women feel and look good.
  • Each team member had a passion for selling fashions, booking fashion parties and recruited others who were passionate about fashion.

It was the PASSION that our team had that truly built it to the number one team in the nation and that’s what created the passion for recruiting in building our team.

But, to be more specific, here are Five Team recruiting passion points

  1. Be passionate about your focus! Set team recruiting goals. How many? How soon? What will it take? What will you give up to focus on recruiting?
  2. Be passionate about the type of person you want on your team.       Write a list of quality character traits of people you want. Who are you looking for?
    1. People who are passionate about your products?
    2. People who want independence?
    3. Positive, sharing, caring people?
    4. People looking for extra income?
    5. People who want to be their own boss?

Get very specific. Review this list every day. If you know who you’re looking for, they will appear.

3. Be passionate about your Compensation plan. Help your team know how to share it. Know what it takes to get to every level. Know the income plan.

4. Be passionate about sharing opportunity at least TWICE A WEEK!       This is a big one! Many people share their opportunity maybe once a month! Of course, this means holding parties every week and following up with prospects you meet often!

5. Be passionate about helping others! Teams bond when everyone in the team is valued. Welcome new team members, help them get off to a strong start and teach your team to share and help each other.
