This morning I had a L.E.A.P. Group coaching zoom call with leaders and the BIG TOPIC was helping their team members who struggle with getting bookings. The top complaints were…
- “It’s hard to get bookings in the summer.”
- “People are too busy to book in the summer.”
- “Nobody wants to book with me this summer.”
If you truly want to have a calendar full of bookings over the summer, you have to work at it.
Today I want to inspire you to “work” at getting bookings with a booking mind map. Turn to page 6 in your workbook and create a booking mind map. A booking mind map is simply brainstorming your thoughts around the groups of people you know who will book a party.
- Get a large piece of paper (11 x 17)
- Draw a circle in the center that represents your summer bookings.
- Draw circles around your large circle and groups of people you’re involved with this summer. (See example in your workbook on page 6)
- Now draw extra circles out from these circles write names of people you know in each of these groups. Don’t think that they won’t want to book, just get lots of names written on your mind map.
- Make it a game! Go through your cell phone, old business cards, Facebook friends, people you haven’t contacted in a while and place them in a category.
- Once you have your lists, then get on the phone or connect with them, send them a summer catalogue and “ask” for the booking.
This mind map gives you a great overview of people you haven’t thought of in a while and expands your opportunity to get your calendar full of bookings over the next three months.
Now, refer back to Day 2 Blog where you created our Summer Schedule. Get very clear about WHEN you want to hold your parties, so when you ask for bookings you are confident with your calendar.
Next, refer back to Day 4 Blog post when you created your TOP 3 Summer Theme parties. When you’re connecting and asking for bookings get excited, share with people the details of your FUN theme party. When people learn it will be a FUN get together, like a Margharita party, or a Beach Party, they will get in the mood and get excited to get on your calendar.
