DAY 8 summer recruiting

A short story!

It’s a lovely summer evening and I’m on my way to my party. Everything’s set and my cell phone rings and the hostess says, “Oh, by the way Gale, I want to let you know the Mary Kay lady will be presenting one hour before you. I hope you don’t mind.” What could I say? “Of course, it’s totally fine!” I say, (Thinking OMG red lipstick all over my fashions.) Sure enough when I arrive, 8 women are sitting around a kitchen table trying on BRIGHT RED lipstick. I’m a team player, so I joined in and when it was my turn to present my fashions, of course, everyone was tired and ready to go home. In my mind, I’m thinking this party is a bust, and it was – SALES WISE! However, I kept to my 5-step recruiting process after every party. ( See end of story below.)

And that’s what I’m sharing with you today! In fact, I want you to adopt this 5-step recruiting process and track it each week all through the summer using the example tracking form in your Summer Action Plan workbook on Page 7.

This is the 5-step Recruiting process.

  1. Hold a Summer Fun party. (One of your top three theme parties)
  2. Identify at this party THREE prime prospects. Three people who a looking for your business opportunity.
  3. Hand each prospect a recruiting packet at checkout. Let them know you’ll be contacting them to review the packet.
  4. Follow-up within 24-48 hours after the party with a phone call.
  5. Invite them to meet with you for coffee or your next Take a Look Event.

One of the women at this show was a financial planner and she was one of the three I contacted after the show. She and I partnered together over the summer and did group presentations. I opened the presentation showing people how to save money in their closets with my wardrobe solution, and she closed the presentation showing people how to invest the money they saved. This ONE party brought me tons of new sales and many new recruits. And, of course, the financial planner became a great friend and new recruit also.
