I GOT IT! I got my theme for my business for 2014 at our family breakfast on New Year’s Day. I was so excited. I’ve been thinking about my theme for the past few weeks, and pretty much decided my theme was going to be one word “MORE.” I wanted to add “more” to my business, serve “more” clients, help “more” leaders and it just wasn’t coming together.
Last year, my theme was helping my coaching clients, “Imagine-Believe-Achieve.” Those three words were imprinted in my coaching and training throughout 2013.
On our CG Academy private Facebook page this week a member needed some help with her theme. I always had a theme for my million dollar team. As a leader, it really helped me keep our team motivated to staying on track all through the year. The team would get behind it and come up with ways to make it our team mantra.
- A theme is something you’re passionate about in your business,
- A theme is your total focus and purpose in growing your business.
- A theme can be one word, it can be a phrase, a question.
- A theme can be a word or phrase that rhymes with the number fourteen.
- A theme can be the catalyst to keeping you motivated every time you get discouraged.
One year I used the words “Opportunity and Possibility.” It was the first year we hit the million dollar circle. We focused on sharing our opportunity and the possibilities available to making a difference for others.
I posted my theme on Facebook this week and asked people to post theirs. One person posted “Catching Fire.” Another posted “Consistency.” I loved this one.
I got mine last night after reading your “7 Ways to Maximize your Income in Direct Sales”: My theme is EXPECT SUCCESS
So, what’s your theme for 2014?
During this first week of the new year apply your heart-centered listening skills. Listen carefully to conversations you have with others. Listen carefully to conversations going on around you. Pay attention when reading books or online blog posts. Meditate or take a walk and watch for signs. Read about the signs I saw on my walk on my personal blog.
Let me set the scene how I found my theme and what happened when I listened and paid attention. We had enjoyed having our two little grandsons have a sleepover on New Year’s eve so their parents (daughter #1 and hubby) could greet the New Year’s on a special date. We were sitting at our kitchen table for a lovely New Year’s Day morning breakfast. I had just served Challah French toast and a big fruit salad made by daughter #2. We were “face-timing” with daughter #3 who lives in Amsterdam. The sun was shining through the French windows.
I want you to feel the atmosphere of light, love and good conversations. You know what it’s like when there’s multiple conversations going on and you’re trying to keep up with more than one? My #2 daughter and her friend were explaining to me how to react when taking my upcoming new head shots, and she said, “Shine your light, Momma! Let your inner essence shine through.”
That’s when I got it! I knew this theme was perfect for me this year to “SHINE THE LIGHT.” Shine the light on my private coaching clients. Shine the light on my Group coaching clients. Shine the light on all the people who join the CG Academy membership program. I’ll be shining the light on all the leaders using the 2014 CALENDAR GIRLS Team Booking system and my newest release 2014 DIRECT SALES PLANNER, and I’m ready to serve you and help you “Shine the Light” this year.
