They say a sense of urgency is what drives people (and companies) to work much harder than normal. This sense of urgency makes them work as if their lives depended on it. It was a sense of urgency that drove me to grow my million-dollar team.
I know when I first joined direct sales my soul reason was to help pay for my three children in college. Yep, three in college at once, was tough financially. So, I had a sense of urgency! And if someone asked me on a scale of 1 to 10 what my S.O.U. was, I know it was a resounding number 10!
The top leaders in direct sales who earn a six-figure income (and more) have that SENSE OF URGENCY factor. They run their business with that sense of urgency.
- They work the hours they want around their family and lifestyle.
- They plan their income to pay their monthly bills and save for all the extras in their busy life.
- They take time for their husband and/or family because they are their own boss.
- They have the money to go where they want and take dream vacations creating many lifetime memories for their family.
All of these facts add up to the SENSE OF URGENCY number they have in business.

The enemy to a sense of urgency is comfort! When you get trapped in your comfort zone, you lose that sense of urgency. You fall prey to the trap of mediocrity. And when you’re in mediocrity, you don’t get the results you want at the pace you want. So, often, when that happens people tend to give up or even quit.
