#3 Improves your Mental Clarity.  Organizing thoughts on paper helps declutter the mind.  I know this to be true for myself.  Writing in my DAILY JOURNAL, I sometimes find solutions to problems that become more apparent. My overall mental clarity improves as I see my way through solving a problem or working on a new idea.
