This week on my Group Coaching call, I asked the question, “What one action will have the biggest impact on your business, right now?”

It excited the group and lots of spirited, active and energetic discussion occurred.  Leaders responded with

  • “I want to learn how to be a better coach because my team is growing so fast.”
  • “I want to inspire my team to dream more and move into leadership.”
  • “I want to increase recruiting on my team.”
  • “I want to be a Director by convention.”

Our brainstorming discussion continued and was full of great ideas passing back and forth.  These leaders are committed to growing themselves and their team.  They focus on serving others and always want to learn the best practices in become a top leader.  They focus on our mantra  “the next step” process in moving up and achieving their goals.

Then, I asked another question.   “In serving your team, do you truly know why each person joined?”   And that’s when everyone got it, they got the answer to what would have the biggest impact on their business right now.  They realized that understanding “why” each team member joined helped them think strategically  in helping team members focus on their goals.

You see, if you want to inspire your team, be a better coach, help them dream more, help them move into leadership, increase your recruiting, or move up the leadership ladder, you must learn to serve your team knowing the power of their “why.”

Know the power of her “Why.” 

Connect with your team members today and ask, “why did you join?”   Knowing why she joined will help you shine as a leader because you’ll know exactly how to support her.    When you know “why” your team member joined, you know her purpose in building her business and you’ll know if she needs to be inspired, or she needs help in mastering her skills or more.

When know her “why” you’ll understand what drives her business.  Simon Sinek wrote a book , “Start with Why.”  He says, “Why is the thing that inspires us and those around us.”

If your team is not responding or you’re struggling to qualify every month, take a moment and connect with each person and find out why they joined and what they want from their business.
